The project was a two phased, two building development on the already established Pinewood Toronto Studio production lot located in the Toronto Port Lands. We had previously been involved with a production stage in 2018 and were retained to assist with the new phases in 2019.
Pinewood Toronto Studios is the preferred facility for domestic and international film and TV producers shooting in Toronto. The two new buildings consisted of state-of-the-art film production studio space, production crew support space, and office support space. Every detail of each new production stage was carefully considered. Floor finishes, floor flatness, sound attenuation of mechanical systems, coordination of structure and rigging point loads, sound attenuation and sound transmission were all requirements that had to be carefully integrated for the facility to achieve the prescribed performance requirements.

The open and clean industrial look of the sound stages tell only part of the story as the spaces are meticulously designed, coordinated, and detailed to ensure all mechanical, structural, electrical, and acoustical systems are incorporated and perform to the level required for major television and film productions.

As credits roll at the end of a television show or motion picture, you realize there are hundreds of people involved with a production. Similarly for us, there were hundreds of people involved with the Pinewood Studios project, from early concepts to project closeout. Working together, we planned and designed a series of buildings, sound stage studios, and office areas that support the specific technical requirements of day-to-day film and television recording, while also precisely integrating the requirements of creative, business, and operations personnel.
